How to get IT experience

Advice on how get a Job In IT

How do I get a job in IT without experience? I am a newcomer to IT but I dont have experience. Ive been obtaining certifications, yet I still havent gotten an IT job.

You have your MCSE, but no real experience, now what? Here's how to get the experience that you need to make your MCSE work for you.

Don't bang your head against a wall trying to gain experience from traditional employers. One of the best ways to gain experience is to seek out someone who works for themselves and offer your services at a very reasonable rate. Find an MCSE who does freelance work or has his or her own business and offer to do whatever grunt work that they may have on their next project for a very cheap price.

Remember you are only seeking experience here. You are not really looking to make a killing off of the job. You want the chance to become an MCSE sponge so that you can soak up the lingo and learn some of the practical skills that experienced MCSEs already have.

Whereas a traditional employer, such as a corporation or IT firm is not willing to take a chance on a green MCSE, a self employed MCSE will more likely give you a shot because you have something to offer, namely cheap labor.

Document your experiences as you work alongside your experienced freelance MCSE.
The next time you apply for a job with your MCSE credentials, traditional employers will take you more seriously, you will be able to converse fluently with them about all the real world applications of MCSE skills and you will both look and sound like you know what you are doing which is key to getting any job. Next thing you know you will be gainfully employed and hanging around the water cooler trading stories with your coworkers.

So think out of the box to get the experience you need to go with your MCSE certification !!!

MCDBA, PMP, RHCE!! Amazon.com website is down. Amazon web site is down !!

The amazon.com web site is down !! That's right the amazon.com web address gives you the error message service unable. Don't beleieve me? Then type in the web address and see what happens. And all this on the same day that oil hits a record high.

I am posting this story just to show the absolute need and demand for certified information Technology professionals. Amazon as well as all major companies rely on information technology and the people who support them for their existence. It is going to take an MCSE, or an RHCE or CCIE to bring that company back online.

So as always I urge people to look around and try to find an affordable IT certification program. Wheteher it is a boot camp, or self study or offered through a school. Check out the different vendors that can get you IT certified and get in on the career path of the future. Don't get left out!!

MCSE, PMP, MCDBA. Women in Information Technology.

Why are more women not pursuing careers in Information technology. Lets face it IT is a male dominated career path. Some studies suggest that the ratio is anywhere from 9 to 1 or 6 to 1 in information technology. In my company alone we have 23 Information technology professionals and Every last one of them is male. Why are women not studying for popular IT certifications like the MCSE or PMP.

Graduates with computer science degrees and IT certifications will enjoy high starting salaries and plenty of job opportunities in the near and long term future, so why aren't we seeing more women in information technology training.

The problem seems to be the image of IT professionals. The typical image of the IT profession consists of a man, with a blackberry or other pda on his hip, three pens in his top left pocket and an antisocial attitude. This image will recruit women about as effectively as a sieve will hold water. So to bring more women into the field we need to upgrade the image. A more gender friendly and frankly a more up to date image of today's IT professional is just what the doctor ordered if we are to see more women in IT .
